Where Is the Skincare and Beauty Industry Leading Us To?

Every year, billions of dollars are invested in the newest skincare and beauty care products and skincare treatments are high on demands in today’s market.  Some of these products will fail, while others will actually show surprisingly impressive results for some users. All of us are after some sort of improvement within the realms of skincare and beauty. Some of us are looking for a working solution to acne or chronic dry skin, some are looking for a promising cure to different skin conditions, and others may be looking for the hottest hair restoration treatments. We continue to dump money into this industry, yet we do not have to do this blindly!

What Can You Do to Avoid Wasting Money?

Before you dump money into that new product you saw on television, do a little bit of research on it. This can save you lots of time, money and effort. While that commercial or infomercial looked incredibly promising, they are designed to lure you in and hook you for the purchase; this leads to a lot of exaggeration and deceit. Instead of impulse purchasing, look online for customer reviews and real experiences with the product. If it still sounds like a good investment, you can usually find the product in stores at a much cheaper price within a few weeks of the product’s release.

Men: the Latest Focus in Skin and Beauty!

As society quickly changes its views on skincare and beauty care, men are becoming the targets of new product lines and manufacturers. In the present day, this industry is not only seen as solely for women. Acne treatments, lotions, skincare products, hair care products, tanning lotions, and even some forms of make-up are making their way into the masculine realm- and are quickly being accepted by men everywhere. Some women may find this quite surprising, but it is becoming a social norm.

Busting the Myth: “Breakthrough Ingredients Really Work!”

We have all seen this claim, as many commercials and advertisements will use it. They say that their new product contains a breakthrough ingredient that has the potential to cure different conditions, improve appearance, and much more. However, this is usually not true for the most part.

Before we call these companies liars, lets elaborate a bit more on this topic. The claims that are made will usually hold a small sliver of truth to them. For example: a company may claim that acai berries will help you to burn fat fast, helping you to lose six inches off of your waist in a month. Sounds too good to be true,  right? It is! These berries might slightly boost metabolism, but it is still going to require healthy eating habits and regular exercise in order to reach your goals; and you will most likely not lose that six inches, either.

Many of us are desensitized to this form of advertising, and most of us realize that many of these claims are false. Yet, some of these commercials and advertisements are still really capable of winning us over. The important thing to remember is to research: with knowledge on your side, you can make a wise purchase!
